Focus on what matters most
Productivity Tools
When you realize you need to do the same task 27,000 times and have it done by Friday, I’m the teammate you call. I design custom apps, APIs, tools, and scripts to allow teammates to focus on the important stuff. This page includes a small sample of JavaScript, Python, and other scripts used to cut hours off the task.
- Audience: Teammates
- Responsibilities: Increase efficiency and save deadlines from destruction.
- Tools Used: Python, Javascript, HTML, CSS, Bash, etc.
- Metrics: Over 1,000 hours saved per year. 20+ tools made in 2024.
Highlights
With experience in both frontend and backend design, I create mini-apps that turn time-consuming requirements into quick entries.
API Audio repair:
A contractor accidentally added audio incorrectly to hundreds of course pages. When the course was transferred, it broke all the code. Repair estimations were 220 hours. I wrote a script in 2 hours that corrected the problem, and has since been used hundreds of times for minor repairs, or large branding changes.
Course Scaffolding:
One project required many contractors to spend weeks building course templates. I wrote a script that took their existing task spreadsheet and did the 6-8 hours per task in just 2 minutes.
AI Course Creator
Sometimes a client wants to see a complete mockup with more than “Lorem Ipsum”. I wrote a script that generates 180 day K12 courses into a fully designed course, at a cost of $3.84 per course.
Auto-Documentation
One team was required to document all project assets into a spreadsheet for each project. It took 3-4% of the entire project time to complete the over 75,000 actions. I wrote a Google Sheets script to automatically crawl through the project and document the assets. I’ve since completed many more such scripts.
Quiz Creation:
Students need more practice, but creating aligned questions is costly. I created “Boss Fight Generator” to turn one aligned question into hundreds, giving students nearly unlimited unique practice sets, each with full step-by-step recovery feedback. (Now with AI generative questions)
Conclusion
I can free a team from the Time Vampires that slow them down from creating their best work or burn them out. While my focus is on instructional design and EdTech apps, that doesn’t stop me from solving bottlenecks in other areas. With each app added, the effects compound, allowing my teams to focus on the parts they do best.
